Who We Are

Sandscribe Communications is a media production and training company based in Addis Ababa.
Although the need for film and television productions and film exhibitions are growing in Ethiopia, there is still a lack of quality training available. Our management team understands the necessity of the industry to nurture young talent and diligently works towards developing quality media professionals that aspire to artistic excellence and socially conscious storytelling. Ultimately, its goal is to substantially contribute to the development of local film and television industries and to the positive social transformation of Ethiopian peoples through quality cultural products such as films and other audiovisuals.

Sandscribe Communications combines research, training, and production to ensure that cinema and audiovisual industries continue to mature in the Horn of Africa.

THE SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF SANDSCRIBE COMMUNICATIONS

Six major objectives will be accomplished by Sandscribe Communications:

Produce films, videos, and audios of substance using up-to-date digital technology for theatrical show, CD/DVD release, TV and radio broadcast, commercials or training presentations.

Co-ordinate and conduct specialized training workshops and capacity-building seminars to enable young amateurs and professionals working in both private and governmental media organizations to develop the skills and master the craft of film, television, and other audiovisual productions.

Establish an academic institute to be known as the “Sandscribe Institute” that provides rigorous undergraduate and graduate programs of study in the theory, creative, and technical aspects of filmmaking, television production, and the performing arts.

Coordinate and conduct research, literature reviews, and focus group discussions that address health, socio-economic, psychological, and other related issues in order to sharpen the thinking of working professionals and new students, and to inspire them to search for conscientious solutions and build a positive future.

Plan, coordinate, and conduct special events for companies, groups, and individuals. These services include planning, producing, and managing social or corporate meetings/events, symposia, exhibitions, conferences, parties, trainings, tradeshows, cultural shows, award ceremonies, and fundraisers to foster innovation, productive dialogue and social development.
